Three-cylinder positioning system for dredgers

The following describes the three-cable positioning system of the cutter suction dredger for us:
The three-cable positioning system is the most sophisticated positioning system currently used in the world for cutter suction dredgers.
The three-cable positioning system generally refers to three positioning anchors and three positioning cables. They are: tail anchor, left anchor, right anchor, tail cable, left cable, and right cable. The three-cable positioning system requires three winches to retract three anchor cables, and locates the center of the cable hub with three cables to fix the orientation of the vessel.
During the operation of the cutter suction dredger, the three-cable positioning system interacts with the transverse anchor system to complete the swing and forward movement of the vessel. Three-cable positioning is particularly suitable for operation in deep water areas, but because of its flexible nature, it is best suited for use in excavation of softer soils. Of course it can also be used to excavate hard soil. However, when hard soil is excavated, the hull will generally experience intermittent vibration and influence the stability of excavation. When the three cables are positioned, they occupy a large area of water and should not be used in small water areas. Because of the characteristics of the positioning method of the three-cutter suction dredger, the driver should adjust the tightness of the three positioning cables at any time according to the tidal conditions in the port area where the tidal range is large, so as to ensure that when the vessel is constructed, the tidal ropes are too tight and fall into the water. The cable is too loose to move up. When the dredging vessel is advancing in construction, because the diameters of the cables on the cable strands are different, it is easy to cause the seizure to shift or advance too much as the vessel advances. Operators should always pay attention to the adjustment.
